UW Bothell’s 2024 Outstanding Public Service Award
Felicity Abeyta from the UW Bothell was selected to receive UW Bothell’s 2024 Outstanding Public Service Award!

We work with UWB and Felicity for our Latino Leadership Initiative program that aims to energize the Latino Community and expand the current leadership base in Skagit and Snohomish Counties. This initiative is done in partnership with Edmonds College, Skagit Valley College, and the University of Washington Bothell

The UW Bothell campus is incredibly proud of Felicity’s deep contributions to public service in collaboration with our organization, the Latino Educational Training Institute.

LLI Orientation
The LLI Orientation Saturday, January 6th, was a success!

Those in attendance included the University of Washington- Bothell LLI students, Dana Washington, Community-Engaged Learning Program Manager at the University of Washington- Bothell, Eduardo Torres, Assistant Director, Center for Student Engagement & Leadership and Center for Student Cultural Diversity & Inclusion at Edmonds College, and Beth Wangen, 4-H Volunteer Development Coordinator, WSU Extension.

LLI Orientation 2018 -2019
The LLI (Latino Leadership Initiative) Orientation was held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Edmonds Community College. This event started with a welcome by Diana Bustos, Program Manager, Center for Student Cultural Diversity and Inclusion.

Dr. Amit Singh, the new president of Edmonds Community College, gave an inspirational presentation on the nature of US education and its power to advance the lives of citizens. The students accepted the participation requirements and expectations with open arms. These students want to be leaders in their community.

LETI's Latino Leadership Fundraising Gala will take place April 27. The gala will feature a special Latin American meal, music, dancing, entertainment and presentation of awards.(Click adjacent image for details.)

LETI Team Presents LLI Concept to National Audience
LETI founder Rosario Reyes and director Mel Cossette will present a brief program in Washington, DC, October 25-27 to introduce the Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) to a national audience.

Latino Leadership / Liderazgo Latino Gala May 31
Dear friends, please join us for an inspirational evening in support of the Latino Educational Training Institute(LETI) and four other educational institutions that successfully brought real transformation to Latino youth through the “Latino Leadership Initiative” program.

Students from three community colleges, Edmonds, Everett and Skagit participated in an intensive leadership training for the last six months where they designed and implemented several community projects.

Come celebrate the success of these young Latinos! Join this wonderful celebration, meet the new leaders and the people involved in this Initiative.

Leadership Initiative Commences
The 3rd edition of our LLI kick-off has proved that we are not only growing but that we getting better at what we do. Our thirty college students received an abundance of positive encouragement from our speakers, panel of elected officials and dignitaries in attendance such as Dennis Smith, Executive Director of United Way, Bob Drewel, Chancellor for the University Center at Everett, Representative Cindy Ryu, Miguel Angel Velasquez, Consul of Peru, Lillian Cordoba, Consul for Community Services (Mexican Consulate) among others. --LETI President Rosario Reyes
