What Your Gift Can Do

Major Programs

Your gift supports these recurring programs and others, which benefit hundreds of participants annually.

GED en Español: Over 150 students have participated in the GED program since we started it in 2012 in cooperation with Edmonds Community College.
Bienestar Total de La Mujer Latina Introduces health, finance, child care, employment options, language development and many other topics that enable participants to advance in society and improve the well-being of mothers and children. Taught in eight sessions for up to 20 students; child care provided.
Financial Literacy; Capacitación Financiera: Teaches families to successfuly navigate the American financial system. Banking, credit cards, mortgages and budgeting are major topics. Taught bilingually in 8 sessions for up to 20 students.
Workplace Safety 1; Seguridad de Trabajo 1 Students learn how to protect themselves from workplace accidents and how to use the available financial support if they are injured on the job. Taught in Spanish by taught by Washington State Dept. of Labor & Industries-approved instructors for up to 20 students per cycle.
Workplace Safety 2; Seguridad de Trabajo 2 10 hour safety training session to obtain OSHA 10 certification (including State issued certification card), taught by Washington State Dept. of Labor & Industries-approved instructors, in Spanish, for up to 25 individuals per cycle.
Workplace Safety 2; Seguridad de Trabajo 2 10 hour safety training session to obtain OSHA 10 certification (including State issued certification card), taught by L&I approved instructor, in Spanish, for up to 25 individuals.
Workplace Safety Videos; Seguridad en el Trabajo Fourteen video presentations sponsored by WA State Dept. of Labor & Industries.
Latino Leadership Initiative; Iniciativa de Liderazgo Latino Trains college students in our region to organize community services. Participants work with younger students to encourage civic participation.
LETI Vocational School Trains dislocated workers and recent international arrivals bilingually in contemporary work skills, principally in office work.
Folk Dancing. Starting in 2014 with Mexican dance, sudents learn basic moves and gradually advance to presentation level.
