Seasonal Facility Assistant (30 hours/week for 6 months) $20\hour

Purpose Summary:
To support the PAWS Facility Manager with the daily maintenance and repair of PAWS current structural facilities, wildlife and companion animal housing, fixtures, furnishings and facility operating systems of the Wildlife Center, Companion Animal Shelter and Cat City.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Performs daily facilities maintenance for PAWS animal care facilities, public areas, administrative offices, and/or secure areas of buildings, walkways and trails, parking areas, and other exterior features.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of facility needs, equipment, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations including, but not limited to constructions codes and ordinances, electrical and fire safety.
• Follows all safety and security procedures and protocols.
Other responsibilities Include:
• Assists with routine lawn care, grounds-keeping, and landscaping for the PAWS Lynnwood site.
• Works closely with facility caretaking staff, volunteers, and volunteer work groups as they assist with maintenance, building and landscaping projects.
• Assists with the building and maintenance of wildlife caging as needed and enrichment items and ensures that it is carried out safely while adhering to minimum state and federal wildlife caging standards.
• Picks up facility supplies as directed by the PAWS Facility Manager equipment and supplies as needed among PAWS facilities.
• Ensures positive working relationships with product and service vendors, volunteers, and visitors to PAWS providing great customer from PAWS.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds and perform construction duties and safely use and climb ladders. Work is typically performed at the PAWS Lynnwood Campus consisting of a Wildlife Center and Companion Animal Shelter, and PAWS Cat City facility in North Seattle, in all weather conditions, and requires lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and other strenuous activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Able to effectively follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing knowledge, and skills; including, experience working with power tools, hand tools and other construction equipment.
• Understand and practice standard industrial safety protocols, including SDS information.
• Must be a self-starter, able to take initiative and work independently in an efficient and productive manner; including being organized and flexible, able to balance multiple projects and adjust to rapidly changing conditions.
• Work cooperatively and communicate clearly about PAWS’ mission and the safety of the public and other employees. Represent PAWS professionally at all times.
• Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, working effectively and respectfully with diverse groups of people while maintaining high quality customer/public relations. Ability to assist in creating a positive working environment built on team concepts.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid Washington driver’s license with no record of major or repeated minor traffic offenses and auto insurance with required coverage limits.
• Preference to candidates with experience or familiarity with operating and maintaining pool and filtration system and/or experience working at a wildlife rehabilitation center, zoo, shelter, or other animal care setting.

JTE Case Manager
Job Summary
The Case Manager is responsible for making an in-depth assessment of students' needs and determining what resources are available to assist them. Responsible for managing case load, referrals, goal setting and acts as an advocate/facilitator to help meet student needs.
Essential Functions:
Case manage students to reduce barriers and meet basic needs. Assess needs, give guidance, and monitor progress.
Provide services and/or referrals for needs through direct services utilizing Goodwill resources, or by referral to another organization, connecting students to outside agencies as needed.
Provide advocacy, and follow up with providers to whom referrals have been made, or that have made a commitment of resources to the student.
Provide workshops on basic needs and resource topics regularly. Provide workshops on other topics as needed.
Complete intake assessment including all required forms and documents for student's enrollment.
Maintain clear and accurate case notes in database, and maintain paper and electronic student files.
Build professional relationships with students and site staff that facilitate successful outcomes.
Partner with JTE Center Manager(s), and collaborative partners to create opportunity and positive outcomes for students.
Present individual cases in the monthly case review meeting and relay all pertinent student information to requisite supervisors.
Actively participate in staff meetings and other departmental projects.
Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
Facilitates a positive relationship between Seattle Goodwill and the partnering/host agency for the purpose of student success.
Collect, monitor, and report on student outcome data if applicable.
Network with community based agencies, organizations, and groups to stay informed about area services and resources if applicable.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's in social work or related field preferred; Associate's degree or a combination of relevant experience and education in lieu of a degree are acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 2 years social work, human services or case management experience required.
Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses Required:
Knowledge of local community resources and agencies, as well as government benefit and immigration policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with students from a variety of economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, physical and mental abilities and sexual orientations and those with limited English skills.
Must demonstrate a high level of commitment to equity and non-discrimination in practice and execution of duties.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as law enforcement reports, government or agency regulations and legal interpretations.
Ability to practice confidentiality at all times.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to make good decisions without on-site supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn new software as appropriate and necessary to the job.
Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Essential Physical Abilities:
Lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; to reach above head level, developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; pushing; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).
